Privacy Policy

This policy describes what Facts Over Feelings collects, why, and what choices you have. It is written for this website as it actually operates. It is not legal advice.

The operator is the individual who publishes this site (“we,” “us”). You can reach us through the contact form.

Information you choose to provide

Leaderboards. If you submit a Daily Mystery or Fantasy Five result, we store the display name you enter, the result or score, the game date, and the submission time. Display names are shown publicly. Do not use a real name, email address, or other personal information as a display name unless you want it public.

Contact form. If you send a message, we store the name, email address, topic, and message you enter, plus the time it was received. Provide an email only if you want a reply. Contact messages are not published.

We do not require an account, password, or social login.

Information stored on your device

The site uses browser local storage to remember a display name you opted to save, daily-game progress, whether you already finished today’s game, and whether a score was already submitted. You can delete this data in your browser’s site-settings controls. This is not used to identify you across other websites.

Hosting and processors

The site is hosted by Vercel. Shared leaderboard and contact records are stored with Supabase. Those providers may process technical information such as IP address, approximate location derived from IP, request timestamps, browser type, and security logs under their own policies, as needed to deliver the service. We do not add IP addresses to leaderboard or contact records as extra fields.

Analytics

The site uses Google Analytics 4 to count visits, pages viewed, and similar usage on playfactsoverfeelings.com. Google may process technical information such as IP address, device and browser type, and approximate location under its own policy. Analytics is a separate Facts Over Feelings property and is not mixed with any other website we operate.

You can opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Advertising, cookies, and similar technologies

The games themselves do not require advertising cookies. The site is prepared to show third-party ads, including Google AdSense, after a custom domain is connected and ads are switched on.

When ads are enabled, Google and other advertising partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads, limit how often you see an ad, measure ad performance, and, where allowed, personalize ads based on your activity on this site and other sites. You can opt out of personalized Google ads at Google Ads Settings and learn about industry opt-outs at aboutads.info. Blocking cookies may still allow non-personalized ads. Visitors in the European Economic Area, UK, or Switzerland will be shown a certified consent message before personalized advertising cookies are used, if ads are enabled in those regions.

We do not sell personal information for money. We do not permit advertising partners to use contact-form contents or leaderboard display names to build a marketing list.

How information is used

• To operate the games, rankings, and public daily leaderboards.
• To receive and respond to corrections, privacy requests, and other messages you send.
• To prevent abuse, duplicate submissions, spam, and offensive display names.
• To keep the site available and secure.
• To understand how the site is used, using Google Analytics.
• To display advertising if AdSense or a similar network is enabled.

Retention and sharing

Leaderboard rows may be kept so daily history remains consistent. Contact messages may be kept long enough to handle the request and detect repeat abuse, then deleted or minimized. We share information with hosting and database providers as needed to run the site, or if required by law. We do not sell leaderboard or contact data.

Children

The service is directed at a general audience of basketball fans and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.

Your choices

You can play without submitting a leaderboard name. You can refuse the contact form. You can clear local storage. To ask us to review or delete a leaderboard entry or a contact message, use the contact form and include the display name or email you used, the game, and the date.

If advertising settings change, this policy will be updated and the new effective date will change.
